Hi, Firstly I have to say, I think your blog in great! So much useful information.
I’m heading back to Bali for 2 weeks (1 week in Seminyak, 1 week in Ubud) in 9 days for the second time, and can’t wait to check out some of your recommendations. Our list of ‘things to do’ keeps getting longer and longer, just hope we can squeeze in some rest and relaxation, haha.
I did have a question, how do you get your treasures back to Australia? We plan on packing light so there is room for stuff in our luggage/hand luggage, but if we buy larger items (not furniture big, just bulkier lights/homewares etc), do you have shipping company you would recommend? Have you ever used the postal service? If you have a chance to answer, that would be awesome.

Lucky you with an upcoming trip!! I adore Ubud and Seminyak.
Returning with shopping and possible excess luggage is always a challenge. Co-incidentally, I have just posted a blog on “How to pay for your actual luggage weight, but not your piece of luggage”. Take a look. I hope it is helpful.
In the past, I have also boxed items like large lightfittings or mirrors and had them sent through on the plane cargo marked “FRAGILE” with little damage. You do need to factor these items into your weight allowance however.
Bubble wrap is my best friend when bringing delicate items back and I always try to encase them in firm surrounds – preferably juggling them in hand luggage, if possible.
I have not used the Postal Service but do recommend Rim Cargo who I have used when filling a container.
