THE SACRED MONKEY FOREST
The Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud is beautiful and definitely worth a visit.
The monkeys are interesting. The temples are great. The walkway down to the river and across a the bridge is scenic.
It is a lovely opportunity to see families of monkeys, including lots of baby monkeys with their mothers. The monkeys are used to tourists unlike in other areas of Bali, so unless you have food to attract them, the Guides are generally quite good at ensuring the monkeys keep their distance.
Entry fee is 20,000 pp (for the day). It is worth it just to walk around to break the pace of life outside. It is quite cool and lush within the forest with lots of great photo opportunities.
Note: DO NOT bring or consume food anywhere in or close by the forest. Monkeys can be aggressive if you have food.
